Year in and year out, Mercy Medical Center-Clinton relies on community support to help meet ongoing program costs and equipment needs-not simply to maintain standards, but to enhance them. The Mercy Healthcare Foundation-Clinton is the fund raising arm of Mercy Medical Center and donations are channeled through the foundation to the area designated by the donor.
For those of you who believe in our mission and wish to provide continuing support, there are a variety of methods that can be personalized to meet your wishes and your financial situation. Here are some of the more popular approaches of giving that support Mercy Medical Center continue to be a leader in health care for our community.
Cash Your gift of cash, check or money order is the simplest method of giving and is not subject to gift or estate taxes. Cash gifts will be accepted for any purpose consistent with Mercy Medical Center's mission and values.
Bequests There is a common myth that charitable bequests come only from people of wealth. Nothing is further from the truth. Many donors to Mercy Medical Center have been rich only in terms of their commitment and conviction. Through carefully planned wills and estates, they have been able to provide a measure of support that could not possibly have been duplicated with outright gifts. If you'd like more information about making a charitable bequest, www.leavealegacy.org is an excellent resource, or call our foundation office at 563-244-3535.
Memorial and Tribute Gifts Remember a loved one or cherished friend, or honor someone special with a memorial or tribute gift to the Mercy Healthcare Foundation-Clinton.
Trusts There are a wide variety of trusts, including charitable remainder, revocable and testamentary, which may enable you to realize your own objectives now and to help the Mercy Healthcare Foundation at a later date.
Unrestricted Gifts Unrestricted contributions are welcome at any time but are specifically solicited through the Foundation's Annual Fund campaign with the clear understanding that each year's proceeds will be used to answer the hospital's more pressing needs. Proposed projects are reviewed through a process involving representatives of the hospital and the Mercy Healthcare Foundation. This assures that each gift is used with the utmost care and wisdom.
Professional Counsel As with all forms of planned giving, professional advice is essential. The Mercy Healthcare Foundation will be pleased to work with you or with you and your advisors in developing a plan customized specifically to your requirements and wishes.
Many corporations sponsor matching gift programs in which your employer matches your donation. Please contact your company for more information.
