Inpatient Rehabilitation Services

Inpatient StretchingThe goal of Mercy’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Service is to provide comprehensive and effective rehabilitation to a diverse and complex patient population. Our primary goal is to successfully integrate patients back into the community, so we strive to help them by achieving their highest levels of ability to function independently. Services and facilities on our unit are specifically tailored to meet the needs of the following patients:

  • Stroke
  • Neurological disorder
  • Brain injury
  • Multiple trauma
  • Amputation
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Burns
  • Fractured hip, pelvis, femur
  • Arthritis
  • Bilateral knee replacement
  • Parkinsonism
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Pain syndromes

At Mercy, we know that individuals suffering from stroke, brain injury or other complex injury or illness, have very unique needs. Our goal is to assist patients and their families in making the difficult transition from hospital to home a little easier.

Features of the unit:

  • Team of specialists including physician, nurses, therapy staff (physical, occupational, speech and respiratory), social workers, dietitians and other assistive staff.
  • 1,405 square foot gymnasium for therapy activities
  • Common dining hall for meals, activities and socialization
  • Private rooms and bathrooms
  • Kitchen and laundry room for rehabilitation activities

Insurance:

The services at Mercy’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit are covered by Medicare and also may be included in other private insurance policies if a physician verifies that the additional care can help the person maintain or restore them to the level they were before an illness, injury or disease.

Eligibility and Information:

At Mercy’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, trained medical staff will work with patients to provide the appropriate level of rehabilitation needed for optimal recovery.
