An individual's grief over the loss of a loved one can take many forms. What is normal for one person may not be acceptable to another. Many factors influence a griever's response including societal expectations, type of death and personality variables. Reactions to grief can mimic not only physical ailments but also psychological disorders, particularly clinical depression. This workshop helps participants identify common reactions to grief, complicated grief, and when to refer to a grief counselor.

Stressors affect people in different ways. We all have different coping mechanisms. The primary factor in dealing with stress, however, is how we perceive it, in particular what we 'tell' ourselves.
