  • Caregivers in the workplace
    How to care for an aging loved one

    We’ve all heard the term “sandwich generation”; those people trying to care for aging parents, care for their children while also managing their work life and personal goals. This program will provide helpful tools and techniques caregivers can use to more successfully balance their personal and work activities.

  • Depression and Anxiety

    Understanding and managing depression

    Depression is not just 'the blues'; people do not have to live with being depressed. The first step to treating depression is understanding it. This presentation will help the audience have a better understanding of depression, some techniques to help individuals cope with depression, and a better understanding of treatment options. Programs will also discuss the signs and symptoms of suicide and what to do if a friend, co-worker or family member needs help. Upon request, depression screens can be completed and reviewed with participants.

    Understanding and managing anxiety

    Anxiety can be overwhelming and incapacitating if people do not recognize the signs and symptoms and learn ways to manage symptoms of anxiety. Studies have proven that anxiety and depression can lead to physical illness such as heart attack, obesity, hypertension and others. This program is intended to help individuals learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of anxiety, learn to identify triggers that lead to anxiety and learn treatment options available. The participant will also learn some basic techniques to reduce anxiety.

    fitness People tend to think of an "elixir of life" as medicine in a bottle, a "magic potion" as some kind of pill, and the "fountain of youth" as mystical waters. But exercise may come closer than anything else we know as the best way to become and stay healthy, energetic, and happy.

    This presentation will help your audience identify the consequences of physical inactivity, understand 10 key benefits of physical activity, and discover several ways to make physical activity a part of their lives.
  • Grieving process
    The mourning after

    An individual's grief over the loss of a loved one can take many forms. What is normal for one person may not be acceptable to another. Many factors influence a griever's response including societal expectations, type of death and personality variables. Reactions to grief can mimic not only physical ailments but also psychological disorders, particularly clinical depression. This workshop helps participants identify common reactions to grief, complicated grief, and when to refer to a grief counselor.

    Employees tend to need a boost of energy and motivation to keep them productive and efficient workers and just have fun while at work. Learn how to motivate your employees in a fun competitive team oriented fashion. We have several team programs that can be brought to your company.

    The healthy living for prevention of heart disease and stroke covers risk factors, how to modify your life style, signs and symptoms to watch for, overview of the heart and it's function, different diseases, tests and treatments

    Safeguarding yourself

    This program will cover the general steps helpful in preventing the transmission of the basic types communicable diseases in the workplace.

  • Osteoporosis
    Dem Dry Bones, understanding and managing

    This program presents the changes of osteoporosis & their impact upon health. Risk factors, treatments and prevention are discussed.

  • Pulmonary Diseases
    Understanding and managing

    The mechanics of normal and abnormal lung function are discussed. Diagnosis, treatment, prevention of lung disease is identified in layman’s terms. Some of the diseases identified are Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma, and Emphysema.

  • Sleep Disorders
    Understanding and managing

    Normal and abnormal sleep patterns are identified. Effects of sleep disorders are reviewed, along with the diagnosis and treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea; the leading cause of sleep disorders.

  • Stress Management
    Managing of stress

    Stressors affect people in different ways. We all have different coping mechanisms. The primary factor in dealing with stress, however, is how we perceive it, in particular what we 'tell' ourselves. This workshop helps participants explore their 'self talk' and shows the connection between thoughts, emotions, behavior and health.

  • Understanding your Medications
    Prescriptions & OTC

    This program involves the uses of over the counter medications and safe use of them. The major classes of over the counter medications, main uses, and which over the counter drugs should not be taken with certain prescription medications are discussed. For example, a person on Synthroid medication should not take over the counter decongestants such as Sudafed. The program also includes information about cholesterol medications and the current trends in usage of these agents.
