- Diabetes
Preventing, managing, and support services
Diabetes affects millions of Americans and their families and
causes billions of dollars in costs each year. There is evidence
that diabetes can be prevented with lifestyle changes in people
at high risk. The key to treatment of diabetes is education in
self-management skills required to maintain blood sugar control.
Without good control diabetes complications occur at a higher
rate. Mercy Medical Diabetes Center can help. A program on diabetes
can be tailored to the population requesting the information.
- Fitness Education
People tend to think of an "elixir of life" as medicine
in a bottle, a "magic bullet" as some kind of pill,
and the "fountain of youth" as mystical waters. But
exercise may come closer than anything else we know as the best
way to become and stay healthy, energetic, and happy.
This presentation will help your audience identify the consequences
of physical inactivity, understand 10 key benefits of physical
activity, and discover several ways to make physical activity
a part of their lives.
