Mercy Auxiliary Mission Statement
The Mercy Medical Center Auxiliary shall make contributions to,
and otherwise fulfill the purposes of, and provide a benefit to
Mercy Medical Center-Clinton. Auxiliary members shall undertake
activities designed to promote the physical comfort and mental well
being of the medical center’s patients and visitors. Auxiliary
members shall work together and with others promoting peace and
comfort while serving as liaison between Mercy Medical Center and
the community it serves.

The Mercy Auxiliary has a gift shop at both Mercy North and Mercy
South with a variety of gifts, as well as magazines and candy. The
gifts shops are available for the convenience of visitors, patients
and staff.

Services Provided
ADMITTING
Greet patient who need emergency help, escort patients to
their rooms, deliver flowers and run many errands for the Admitting
area.

BRIDGE-O-RAMA
Bridge-O-Rama involves seven sections of bridge players that meet
to play every month, September through May. Each player pays $1
every time they play. The money is then added to the Auxiliary's
fund which is donated to support local health care.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS
Community Relations presents scholarships to Clinton Community
College on behalf of the Mercy Auxiliary.
Scholarship applications are available from February 1, 2005 until
March 31, 2005 at the Mercy Healthcare Foundation office, 1410
North 4th Street Clinton Iowa 52732.

The Mercy Auxiliary scholarship is available to individuals pursuing
a degree in a health-related field.
The Dr. Frank O. Kershner scholarship is available to individuals
pursuing a nursing degree.
The Patrick and Anna McKay scholarship is available to employees
of Mercy Medical Center and their relatives pursuing health-related
degrees.
The Lori Skiff Memorial Nursing scholarship is available to Mercy
R.N.'s pursuing higher education in the field of nursing.
The N.K.L. scholarship is available to individuals admitted to
a nursing program. Scholarship funds are to be used for education
in pursuit of nursing degree.

FLOOR VOLUNTEERS
Collect and deliver menus, sort and deliver mail, distribute magazines
to the waiting areas.

NUCLEAR MEDICINE FAMILY WAITING ROOM
Help family and friends waiting for patients who are having surgery
or who are in ICU.

- Provide coffee and magazines for adults and coloring books and
stuffed animals for children
