Nurse Residency Program

The Nurse Residency Program provides continuous support to the newly hired nurse as he or she transitions to independent practitioner and member of the health care team.

This evidence-based program offers educational courses led by clinical experts. It assists nurses in developing effective decision-making skills and enhanced clinical performance by linking practice outcomes to research evidence.

Nurse residents meet monthly as a cohort with clinical development specialists and subject experts for didactic modules, high and low fidelity simulation, role playing, group discussion and research examination during their first year of hire. Nurses will also complete an evidence-based practice project and set goals for future professional development.
