TRIPS:
Tuesday, March 1
We will travel to Davenport's Putnam Museum and IMAX Theater.
We will see the “World of Music” exhibit and then
catch the IMAX movie Shackleton's Antarctic Adventure. This
is a true story of polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton's
now legendary 1914-1916 British Imperial transantarctic expedition.
Twenty-eight men survived nearly two years in the barren,
frigid Antarctic when their ship, Endurance, was caught in
pack ice and eventually crushed. We will have lunch at the
Old Country Buffet and a mystery stop on the way home. Cost
is $37 per person, which covers the museum/Imax, lunch and
bus. Reservations are due by Jan 25.
Tuesday, April 12
We will travel to the Field Museum in Chicago to see “Jacqueline
Kennedy: The White House Years” exhibit. This presents
more than 70 garments worn by one of history's great fashion
icons. Combined with photographs, documents and film clips,
these fashions reveal how the former first lady carefully
shaped her image to reflect the vigor, ideals and internationalism
of her husband's administration. Cost is $45 per person, which
covers bus and museum. We will stop for lunch before the museum
tour. Lunch is at your own expense. Reservations due by March
1.
Thursday, May 5
We will travel to White Pines State Park Dinner Theater to
see Piano Pizazz Meets Sizzlin' Fiddle! The extraordinary
musical artistry, comedy and showmanship of Brian Gurl and
Lenny Ski - as Jack Benny and Liberace - is a hilarious reunion.
This incredible duo will dazzle you with a smorgasbord of
melodies from Chopsticks to Chopin - plus comedy and showstoppers
galore! Cost is $48 per person, which covers the bus, lunch
and the show. Reservations are due by March 31.
