Med Tree Campaign
Surpasses Goal
The Med Tree campaign, sponsored by Mercy Medical Center – Clinton,
raised a total of $6,002 this year, which is an increase
of $1,600 over the amount raised last year.
Each holiday season Mercy Medical Center sponsors the Med
Tree program in an effort to raise money for the Emergency
Prescription Fund administered through the Information, Referral,
and Assistance Services agency in Clinton. This fund provides
financial assistance to persons in the community with emergency
medication needs. The funds raised this past year were depleted
by mid-fall 2005 due to the increasing needs in our community.
“We are very impressed and grateful for the response
from the community and Mercy associates to the Med Tree campaign
this year,” said Judy Wallace, Director of Pastoral & Social
Services at Mercy Medical Center. “The community was
very generous, and we would like to extend a heartfelt thank
you to everyone who has helped to make this program a success.”
Wallace added that many people who otherwise would not be
able to obtain medications will benefit from the generosity
of others.
