Mercy Clinton Partners
with New Blood Supplier
Clinton, IA- Mercy Medical Center-Clinton has recently partnered
with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. Starting July
1st, 2004 Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will be the exclusive
supplier of Mercy Medical Center-Clinton’s blood supply.
One out of 10 people entering the hospital will need blood!
The amount of blood needed varies according to the type of surgery
and the individual involved. The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood
Center provides, through volunteer donors, quality blood products
and blood related therapies to patients in need throughout our region
and beyond.
The Blood Center is committed to helping patients by servicing
hospitals throughout eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Once local
needs are met, the Blood Center routinely assists other hospitals
and blood centers throughout the United States through resource
sharing.
Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and its division, Southeast
Iowa Blood Center, operate on a “community responsibility”
philosophy, which is based on the belief that people donate blood
not only for themselves and their families, but for anyone who needs
it, whenever and wherever it is needed. This desire to help others
by donating blood on a regular basis assures the availability of
blood and blood products for a growing number or patients in our
community and our nation. It is becoming especially important as
the demand for blood is growing more rapidly than the pool of blood
donors.
Please support the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center through
the local community blood drives. The blood you donate to the Blood
Center comes back to help your family and friends at Mercy Medical
Center-Clinton. Please help us save lives in our community and nationwide.
