Mercy Welcomes New VP of Patient Care Services
Amy Berentes has joined Mercy Medical Center as vice president of Patient Care Services. She previously served as Director of Clinical and Professional Development and Magnet Coordinator at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Ill.
Berentes is responsible for providing broad oversight for patient care initiatives and improvement in order to ensure quality care for patients and families.
The new senior leader holds an associate of science in nursing degree from Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, Ill. Amy earned a bachelor of science in nursing and a masters of science in nursing, both from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa. She is also certified by the American Society of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Berentes is a member of Sigma Theta Tau - Rho Eta Chapter, the Illinois Organization of Nursing Leaders (IONL), the American Organization of Nursing Executives (AONE), the National Nursing Staff Development Organization, the Illinois Nurses Association (INA), and the American Nurses Association (ANA).
The Rock Falls, IL, native is active in a wide variety of community, church and health-related events and projects. Amy and her husband have three children. She plans to relocate to the Clinton area in the near future. Amy replaces Ruthann Papke, who retired from Mercy in January after 28 years of service.
