Mercy Earns CME Program Re-Accreditation
Mercy - Clinton has been surveyed by the Iowa Medical Society (IMS) and awarded a four-year re-accreditation as a provider of continuing medical education for physicians.
CME programs provide an opportunity for physicians to acquire new skills and knowledge to maintain competence in their fields and to assure high quality medical care for their patients
The accreditation recognizes that the quality of an institution’s education efforts meet certain criteria established by the state medical society and the Accreditation Council on Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The IMS is recognized by the ACCME as an accrediting body for intrastate providers of continuing medical education.
The following organizations are members of ACCME: American Board of Medical Specialties; American Hospital Association; American Medical Association; American Association for Hospital Medical Education; Association of American Medical Colleges; Council of Medical Specialty Societies; and Federation of State Medical Boards of the U.S., Inc.
