Mercy Hospice Looking for Volunteers
CLINTON, IA - Mercy Hospice, a service of Mercy Medical Center, is looking for special individuals who want to volunteer their time to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families. Mercy Hospice volunteers call the work inspirational, fulfilling and life changing. They receive great satisfaction from helping others turn hurt into healing by providing companionship.
Time commitments are approximately one to three hours per week and usually take place in the patient’s home or nursing home. A training class has been scheduled for January 16th and 17th for all interested persons.
For more information on how you can join the team or to register for the upcoming training session call the Mercy Hospice Volunteer line at (563) 244-2139.
The mission of hospice is to provide comfort, support and compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses and to their families in a manner that respects the dignity of each individual, and to foster community acceptance that dying is an integral part of living. Hospice volunteers make this special way of caring possible and are a critical part of the team of professionals who provide that care.
