Designed specifically for the care of individuals who are confused and unable to function on their own, Mercy's Memory Loss Program provides a secure area staffed by health professionals who are specially trained in dementia care. The program focuses on the emotional well-being of the residents with care centered on the strengths that each resident brings to the program, building on their abilities rather than what has been lost.
Our goal at the Memory Loss Program is to help each resident achieve maximum independence, improve or maintain his/her abilities, and minimize the affects of the disease process.
The Memory Loss Program offers your family members:
- A safe place to live
- A focus on emotional well-being
- An accepting environment
- Recognition of resident's abilities
- A 24-hour individual program
- Well-defined admission/discharge criteria
- Fewer drug treatments to manage behavior
- Caring and compassionate staff
- Therapeutic care
We believe the delivery of quality care includes not only physical, but psychological, social and spiritual needs, as well. We realize how important it is to remember the resident's ties to family and community, as well as the family's need to participate in decisions affecting care. Mercy's Memory Loss Program offers a non-restrictive, supportive, home-like environment that is separate from the general nursing population. Every effort is made to individualize resident care to include each person's needs and preferences in order to achieve an optimal quality of life.
