Funds raised during this event will be used to purchase a SimMan™ a fully computer-operated total body simulator used to train clinical professionals.
To help prepare clinical personnel, education is provided at Mercy on a regular basis. The SimMan will provide realistic and engaging scenario-based simulation training to challenge and evaluate clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills. The SimMan can be used in simulation drills for high risk, low volume events such as traumas, cardiac and respiratory emergencies or hemorrhages. New graduates will be able to practice on the SimMan to prepare them to work on their respective units. In addition, the SimMan will help to reduce clinical risk, build skill competence, and improve patient safety.
