Benefits Overview

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center provides competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits program. The following is a brief outline of benefits available to eligible colleagues.

Employment/Compensation

Performance Evaluations: Colleagues receive an annual evaluation designed to aid the colleague in growth and development.

Promotion/Transfer: All qualified colleagues will be given first consideration for open positions within the health system. Career opportunities within operating divisions of MercyOne Clinton are available for your review on the careers website. Service date and retirement accrual are maintained with transfer.

Pay Practices: Colleagues are paid on a bi-weekly basis. All hourly colleagues are paid time and one-half for time worked over 40 hours in one week. Hourly colleagues will also be paid shift differential for evening, night and weekend shifts.


Insurance Plans

Part-time colleagues eligible for insurance benefits are defined as those budgeted 32 or more hours per pay period.

Health Insurance: Full-time and part-time colleagues are eligible for health insurance on day one with no waiting period. Dependent coverage also is available. The cost for health coverage is shared between the colleague and MercyOne Clinton. Health and dental premiums are automatically payroll deducted on a pre-tax basis.

Life Insurance: MercyOne Clinton provides all full-time and part-time colleagues with life insurance coverage on day one with no waiting period.  Amount of coverage will be 1 x annual wage and an equal amount of 1 x annual wage for Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D). Colleagues may purchase additional life insurance and dependent life insurance at group rates.

Dental insurance: Full-time and part-time colleagues are eligible for dental insurance coverage on day one with no waiting period. Dependent coverage also is available. The cost for dental coverage is shared between the colleague and MercyOne Clinton.

Short-term Disability Coverage: MercyOne Clinton provides all benefit eligible colleagues with short-term disability coverage on day one with no waiting period.  Up to 6 months of disability paid at 60% of base salary after 7-day elimination period, based on Harford approval.

Long-term Disability Coverage: MercyOne Clinton provides all benefit eligible colleagues with long-term disability coverage on day one with no waiting period. After six months of disability, eligible to receive 60% of base salary until age 65 or no longer disabled (coordinated with the Short-term Disability, Social Security and Disability Pension and Workers’ Compensation). Benefit not to exceed $10,000 per month. Colleagues also are eligible to enroll in a voluntary buy-up of 66 2/3% of base pay.

Medical Malpractice Coverage: MercyOne Clinton provides protection for claims asserted against any colleague while acting within the scope of his/her duties.


Flex Spending Accounts

Health Care and Dependent Care Accounts: Full-time and part-time colleagues are eligible. These special accounts provide significant tax savings on payments for health care expenses not covered by insurance and for dependent care expenses.


Time Off

Paid Time Off (PTO): Full-time and part-time colleagues are eligible upon employment. PTO is a flexible time-off program for vacations, illness or personal reasons. Colleagues accrue PTO each pay period, based on a percentage of the colleague's worked hours.

Leave of Absence: A leave of absence may be utilized for medical, educational and personal reasons. Full-time and part-time colleagues are eligible after twelve months of employment.


Retirement Plan

All colleagues are eligible upon employment. MercyOne Clinton provides a retirement income to vested colleagues upon reaching normal retirement age. Early retirement benefit options also are available. The comprehensive retirement benefit package is made up of four components:

  • Pension plan
  • Savings plan 403(b)
  • MercyOne "match" on your contributions to the savings plan

Education

Educational Assistance: Following 90 days of employment, full-time and part-time colleagues are eligible for tuition reimbursement.


Colleague programs

Pharmacy Services: Colleagues may purchase prescription drugs at cost, plus handling charge.

Uniform/Merchandise Discounts: Colleagues receive a 25 percent discount on all uniforms and a 15 percent discount on equipment purchased at the Home Medical Equipment store located at the south campus.

Child Care Program: A child care program for infants through school-aged children is available for all colleagues. The Child Care Center is located at 638 S. Bluff Boulevard.


Community Benefit

The Clinton County Community Student Loan Assistance Program was created to help ease the financial burden of student loans while recruiting and retaining top talent through a progressive debt relief initiative. Learn more.
