Our board certified cardiologists and experienced nursing staff provide a sophisticated level of care and expertise. New state-of-the-art medical equipment ensures an accurate diagnosis, with the special attention you need for a successful recovery.

Mercy’s Cardiac Services include:

Emergency Services: As a certified Level IV Trauma Center, Mercy – Clinton is prepared to care for individuals in need of urgent cardiac care. If the event that more specialized care is needed, patients can be transferred by air or ambulance to regional medical centers.

Interventional Cardiac Care: Minimally invasive procedures, such as balloon angioplasty, stent placement and other treatments to open obstructed arteries, have greatly advanced the options available for heart care. At Mercy – Clinton, our cardiologists and skillful nursing staff offer the most advanced cardiac techniques that have proven to be successful alternatives to open heart surgery.

Cardiac Catheterization: With two fully equipped cardiac catheterization labs, Mercy – Clinton is proud to offer the community the latest technology for cardiac care.

Critical Care (CCU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU): These nursing units provide expert care for cardiac inpatients. Nursing staff has many years of critical care experience with the average nurse working for at least 10 years. Both units are equipped with advanced technology and staff members trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Diagnostic Cardiac Care: Diagnostic tests and procedures can help determine if you have a cardiovascular disease and, if so, the severity of your condition. Mercy’s specialists administer an array of non-invasive, cardio-diagnostics in order to evaluate heart rate, rhythm and circulation. With two state-of-the-art Siemens nuclear cameras, advanced digital images of the heart and its circulation can be obtained and evaluated.

Home Health Care: For patients with chronic heart conditions, Mercy’s Home Care nurses provide education and continued care once you arrive back home.

Cardiac Rehabilitation: The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at Mercy – Clinton offers specialized education, exercise and counseling for patients on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. A team of health care professionals including physicians, registered nurses, exercise physiologists and dietitians work to develop a personalized care plan to meet each patient’s needs.

Education and Support: “Healing Hearts” is an informational and support group for people with heart disease, their families or anyone interested in learning more about how to care for their heart health. The group provides an opportunity for patients and their families to learn about the heart, healthy lifestyles, and the latest research.
