Health Information Services
Mercy Medical Center's Health Information Management staff are knowledgeable regarding confidentiality and release of information federal and state laws in order to protect the patient's right to privacy, as well as assist in the appropriate access of medical information for continuity of care, insurance claims, etc.
Other functions include:
- Medical record maintenance and retrieval
- Coding for internal/external purposes such as for the Trauma Registry or Tumor Registry
- Medical staff assistance with bylaw compliance and peer review
- Dictation and transcription services
Citizens are encouraged to send a copy of their Living Will or Advanced Directives to Mercy Medical Center's Health Information Management department to keep on file should the need arise in the future. PHYSICIANS: An orientation to the department and pertinent policies and procedures, including access and use of the dictation and transcription system is available to you at your convenience.
